The length of therapy varies a lot depending on the nature of what you're working on, your personal goals, and the type of therapy you're doing. Generally speaking:
Short-Term Therapy This can last anywhere from a few weeks to about 3-6 months. It tends to focus on specific issues and problem-solving, and you may start to see progress in a relatively short time.
Long-Term Therapy Work around deeper issues like attachment wounds and trauma is usually longer, sometimes lasting a year or more. It focuses on exploring patterns, emotional healing, and deeper issues, and often involves ongoing self-discovery.
Maintenance Therapy: For some, therapy can continue indefinitely, especially if it’s more about personal growth or managing chronic mental health challenges.

My fees are generally in line with or lower than the standard rates of other therapists in the SF Bay Area. I hold a number of sliding scale slots for clients with financial needs. If you have a PPO insurance plan, I can provide a superbill (a summary of services) that you can submit to your insurance for potential reimbursement. You may want to check with your insurance to understand what benefits they offer for psychotherapy. If you are in need of lower fee services and those slots are taken, I will help you find other low fee options (see “Resource” page).
-
No, I am not on any insurance panels but I can provide a superbill when requested so that you can submit to insurance on your own.

Cancellations must be made outside of 48 hours before session or the full fee will be charged.

While there are many theories on what causes change in the therapeutic process, mine draws from Buddhist Psychology, which holds that change happens through mindfulness, self-awareness, and insight into the nature of suffering. By understanding how attachments, aversions, and habitual patterns contribute to distress, therapy helps individuals recognize and release these cycles. Core principles like present moment awareness, impermanence, and compassion guide this process, fostering a deeper understanding of the mind and self. Through cultivating wisdom and self-compassion, individuals can develop a more flexible, peaceful relationship with their thoughts and emotions, leading to lasting transformation.
