EMDR Therapy

EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) therapy is a powerful, proven approach to help you find relief from the distress caused by traumatic memories and unhelpful thought patterns.
EMDR is a structured, evidence-based therapy that helps you process and move beyond the painful memories and experiences that may be affecting your mental well-being. Unlike traditional talk therapy, EMDR uses bilateral stimulation—often through guided eye movements or bilateral tapping —to engage both sides of your brain. This process allows you to work through distressing memories and beliefs in a safe and controlled way, diminishing the negative impact of these memories on your present life. To deepen the benefits of EMDR, I incorporate IFS (Internal Family Systems), which helps clients identify and work with different "parts" of themselves that are burdened with maladaptive beliefs and emotional suffering.
EMDR sessions are tailored to your individual needs and proceed at your comfort level. Whether you meet me in person in Marin or online from anywhere in California, we’ll work through a structured series of stages, helping you safely reprocess past experiences so they no longer dictate how you feel in the present.
